Neptec Technologies Corp., a leading developer of innovative 3D machine vision products, today announced that it has signed AutonomouStuff as a distribution partner for its breakthrough OPAL 2.0 LiDAR products.

OPAL 2.0 3D laser scanners are specifically designed for real-time applications in harsh environments. They incorporate Neptec’s patented obscurant-penetrating LiDAR technology and are packaged for the punishing conditions typical of off-road vehicles and mapping sensors used in the mining, oil and gas, defense, and construction industries.

“AutonomouStuff has long been regarded as the world’s leading distributor of components and services to build next-generation autonomous systems for such things as driverless cars, terrain mapping, collision avoidance, object tracking and intersection safety,” said Michael Dunbar , Director of Business Development for Neptec Technologies. “We are thrilled to be working with them on integrating our space-proven technologies into tomorrow’s autonomous solutions.”

“OPAL scanners overcome many of the limitations of conventional laser scanners currently used in autonomous solutions – they have extended range, operate at 1540nm wavelength, can penetrate obscurants such as dense dust and snow, and are ruggedized for harsh environments – all of which make them very attractive for real-time automation solutions,” said Bobby Hambrick , Chief Executive Officer of AutonomouStuff.

“Neptec’s ‘more information, less dataâ„¢’ approach to building real-time 3D perception systems using OPAL scanners and 3DRi software makes it easy to build and integrate intelligent machine vision solutions and reduces complexity and life cycle costs for our customers.”
