FLIR’s CLIP-NIR™ Laser Illuminator

FLIR® EOC introduces the CLIP-NIR™, a military-qualified 830nm illuminator/pointer incorporating FLIR’s EOC’s advanced illumination array technology.

The CLIP-NIR provides Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) and other special operators a compact laser pointer with the added capabilities of highly uniform illumination and combat ID tag triggering in both point and illuminator modes. The CLIP-NIR’s optical design delivers a brighter beam down range, as far out as 15 kilometers. The high power mode is rated at 600 mW, with a beam divergence of <1 mrad (in pointer mode) and an illumination beam width of 4 degrees.

CLIP-NIR weighs less than 230 grams and runs for up to six hours on a single CR123 battery. CLIP-NIR features a standard rail mount, compliant safety interlocks and has been approved by the Laser Safety Review Board (LSRB). The pointer/ illuminator light module is also available as a component to military electro-optical systems developers.

FLIR EOC is a leading designer and seller of highly-efficient semiconductor lasers, low-noise photodetectors and OEM electro-optical sub-systems for commercial and government applications. In addition to offering custom design services and volume manufacturing, FLIR OEM is a merchant supplier and offers a range of other laser and imaging products.
