Carbon by Design, manufacturer of Aerospace Composite Structures has acquired the first in a series of FDM rapid prototyping machines to further expand the growing portfolio of services offered in their Oceanside California manufacturing facility.

“This new capability will allow us to shorten reaction times to our  customers and will provide us with the ability to reinforce our existing rapid development and deployment model of  UAV’s and related structures,” said owner Dominick Consalvi.

Carbon by Design has experienced an enormous amount of growth within the UAV manufacturing segment within the last 18 months. The current facility has a vertically integrated manufacturing ecosystem which includes composites fabrication, mechanical assembly, machine shop, paint, and engineering services. The addition of rapid-prototyping was the next logical step after the completion of our full service machine shop and cleanroom integration facility. The rapid prototyping capability clearly understates Carbon by Design’s continued commitment to expanding the company’s capabilities to provide an all-encompassing UAV manufacturing experience.
