Coordinate Measuring Machine CMMACP Composites, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high quality composite solutions for UAVs, has expanded their quality capabilities with the addition of a Helmel Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to deliver precise, accurate manufactured components.

ACP Composites continuously works to provide customers with innovative solutions that deliver high performing composites – at an affordable price. The CMM Machine delivers the ability to repeatedly inspect, measure, and scan easily and accurately.

As a multi-use tool, the CMM Machine allows ACP Composites to monitor process control, analyze process variables, solve production problems, verify tooling and professionally document quality by performing dimensional, positional and surface measurements in a single system.

The CMM machine is also used in manufacturing and assembly processes to test a part or assembly. Precise measurements of the X, Y, and Z coordinates are generated by a touch probe attached to the third moving axis of this machine. The CMM machine will read the input from the touch probe, as directed by the operator. The CMM machine then uses the each of these points to determine size and position with micrometer precision which are then recorded and analyzed.

For ACP Composites, their commitment to quality means having the ability to produce superior composite products that meet or exceed customer expectations. George Sparr, President of ACP Composites, shares, “To meet the strict requirements of UAV, aerospace, medical and high-technology semiconductor manufacturing, having the ability to perform and record precise measurements is critical. We expect that our CMM machine will become an essential piece of equipment here at ACP Composites and will ensure customer satisfaction in the final product.”

ACP Composites has continued to invest in their facilities by offering advanced equipment options and state of the art facility features. The new CMM machine will provide improved processes and higher quality standards, while maintaining processes and procedures that are innovative and in compliance with customer expectations.
