FreeWave Technologies, manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, has announced that its MM2 wireless data radio has received an M2M Evolution Product of the Year Award from TMC and Crossfire Media.

“FreeWave is privileged to receive the M2M Evolution Product of the Year Award for our small and compact MM2 wireless data radio,” said Ashish Sharma, chief marketing officer at FreeWave Technologies. “Wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) communication solutions are at the forefront of industrial networking and our MM2 radio signifies one of the many innovations taking place in the M2M marketplace.”

FreeWave’s MM2 wireless data radio is one of the highest performing and smallest form factor radios on the market today. It represents a breakthrough in performance and is ideally suited for M2M communication applications where space is at a premium. The 2.0-inch x 1.4-inch MM2 weighs in at 14 grams and is extremely versatile in that it can operate as master, slave, repeater or slave/repeater radio. The innovation in performance and versatility is matched by the reliability of the solution. Not only does it perform reliably in noise congested environments, but each MM2 is 100 percent tested for RF performance from –40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius. The MM2 is the leading OEM solution from FreeWave and is relied upon in some of the most mission-critical applications for government and defense customers, such as the command and control of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

“I am pleased to honor FreeWave Technologies for its innovation and helping to drive the next evolution of technology,” said Carl Ford, founder and community developer, Crossfire Media. “On behalf of Crossfire Media, I extend congratulations to FreeWave for its advancement of M2M technology products. The entire wireless industry looks forward to more innovative solutions from them in the future.”

“The editors of M2M Evolution are pleased to grant a Product of the Year Award to FreeWave Technologies for the significant progress achieved in the machine-to-machine industry with its MM2 wireless data radio,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “It is a pleasure to honor FreeWave for its accomplishments.”

The Third Annual M2M Product of the Year Award winners is featured on the M2M Website and published in its e-newsletter.
