FreeWave Technologies, manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, today announced that it has logged more than 1.3 million combat hours with two major OEMs. Both organizations, AAI Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Insitu, offer two of the country’s most trusted and relied upon Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) military platforms – the Shadow and ScanEagle – in which FreeWave provides wireless data communication for command and control applications.
“We are proud to announce that our wireless data radios continue to log significant combat hours with two highly respected UAV platforms – Shadow by AAI Unmanned Aircraft Systems and ScanEagle by Insitu,” said Ashish Sharma, chief marketing officer at FreeWave. “We have developed and provided command and control solutions to the government and defense market for more than a decade and we take great pride in our efforts to make highly reliable, secure and robust wireless data radios. Hitting the 1.3 million combat hour mark between these two platforms is a significant accomplishment and demonstrates the trust and reliability our military OEMs have in our products.”
The Shadow Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System by AAI Unmanned Aircraft Systems offers reconnaissance, surveillance, targeting and battlefield damage assessment. To date, Shadow has logged nearly 750,000 combat hours. The ScanEagle UAV platform by Insitu offers imagery for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and has logged more than 625,000 combat hours. FreeWave’s wireless data radios have been on-board for the duration of flight hours achieved by these platforms. FreeWave provides the government and defense industries with highly reliable wireless data communications. In fact, many of the technical advancements made in collaboration with FreeWave’s government and defense partners have led to innovations around low power consumption, lightweight solutions and field performance. FreeWave’s solutions are available in both multiple frequencies and multiple footprints and are completely 100 percent manufactured, tested and tuned in FreeWave’s manufacturing facility in Boulder, Colorado.
“We value our partnerships with AAI Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Insitu and will strive to continually deliver wireless data radios that are tailored to fit their UAV requirements,” added Sharma. “In order to offer the best possible communication solutions for government and defense applications, our customer service team is available 24/7 — providing customers with a superior level of support. We look forward to many more successful flight hours with these OEMs.”
