RV-VTOLx4 Multi-Rotor Remotely Piloted Aircraft System

Just 10 months after its development start, Advanced Aviation Technology – A2Tech (www.a2tech.eu) has performed the first official flights of its new RV-VTOLx4 Multi-Rotor Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). This first pre-production airframe – S# P001 – took to the air for hovering flight tests on early spring of this year.

The RPA performed “as expected” during the flights, which included an assessment of the airframe´s general handling and basic functions, in the hands of chief test pilot Lele Grezzani.

The RV-VTOLx4 has been designed to meet the needs of wildlife & documentary filmmakers, industrial inspections and academic researchers, who´s looking for a highly rugged and reliable backpack-portable RPAS platform. The company has high hopes for the platform in this roles.

The development of the system is a breakthrough in the area of Multi-Rotor Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). All componets are industrial grade and will be powered by four “tropicalized” electric motors, and be qualified to deliver enough thrust to carry up to 2.5 Kg of payload. Higher payload capacity will be qualified on a case by case study. A detailed list of compatible industrial, broadcast and movie cameras are available on requets. The payload are mounted on a 2 or 3-Axis gyrostabilized camera mount, and features an indipendent video downlink and control.

The Ground Control Station “RealityVISION – Portable Ground Control Station (PGCS)”, for both pilot and payload operator, are based on a hardshell backpack with arm rests and includes a Command & Control (C2) uplink, video & telemetry downlink, extensible antenna masts, head mounted display or viewfinder, and a broadcast grade battery system. To operate the systems, a RPA flight license are required, obtainable through the RPAS Experts Facility Academy.

Rental of the system starts from €695,00/day
