Gatewing X100 UAV

Sky-Futures have acquired the Gatewing X-100 as the new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to their managed service fleet, and will now also be providing mapping and surveying services.

As a global, leading provider of UAV managed services the Sky-Futures team offer both vertical take off and landing (VTOL) and fixed wing solutions for lease with expert operators. This professional service uses the market leading UAV technology and the most capable UAV operators. All Sky-Futures operators have many years UAV experience and the team as a whole have over 19 years UAV experience. It is this understanding that brings the expert touch to commercial UAV operations.

“Our depth of UAV expertise across the company means we are able to support many different clients across many different industry sectors. Our operational flexibility and global network means we can react quickly to clients’ needs anywhere in the world and at any time,” commented Chris Blackford, Operations Director. “ All our systems are man portable allowing us to operate in even the most remote places. The image or video data collected can also be processed on site giving clients instant footage and very fast processing times for complex outputs such as geo-referenced orthomosaics.

The Sky-Futures managed service uses both VTOL and fixed wing UAV solutions to provide aerial photography, aerial inspections, mapping and surveys to all manner of industries: mining, oil spill response, media, construction, ecological surveys, forestry, farming etc. The service delivers high quality, cost effective unmanned aerial solutions across industries where safety, speed, efficiency and accuracy are critical. With the rising cost of fuel, the flexibility of UAV operations and the growing need for aerial data, the rise of the UAV as the ‘go to’ tool is very much upon us. “As well as the clear safety case we save our clients money and time so it’s a clear win win situation,” said James Harrison, Commercial Director.

Commercial UAV services also add value in terms of the quality of data that can be collected: high resolution images, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), thermal data, Near Infra Red data and a whole host of other sensor capabilities. The demand for UAV acquired data is spreading quickly not only across industries but also across the world. Sky-Futures are seeing interest growing in areas such as Africa, South America, the Far East and the Middle East.
