MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, has announced that it has signed a contract to provide training support to the British Army.

The training support will include acquiring video using small Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The video will be transmitted in real-time to soldiers’ remote terminals, allowing them to be trained in the tasking of surveillance aircraft and the use of the information collected.

The training exercises will be conducted from June to October 2012, with an option for an additional year.
