The new DJI Zenmuse H30 Series is an all-weather multi-sensor payload, delivering visuals night or day with clearer details from further distances and more accurate angles.

Suited to public safety drones, energy inspection and wildlife conservation efforts, both the H30T and H30 are all-weather, multi-sensor aerial payloads. The H30 integrates four modules:

  • Wide-angle camera
  • Zoom camera
  • Laser range finder
  • The NIR auxiliary light

The H30T also integrates these modules, with the addition of a fifth module – an infrared thermal camera

Compatible with the DJI Matrice 300 RTK and Matrice 350 RTK, the Zenmuse H30 Series uses intelligent algorithms, allowing pilots to see further and clearer during the day while enhancing night vision in dark environments.

Further and Clearer ‌Vision

The Zenmuse H30 Series allows pilots to see further from the sky. With its high-resolution 40MP zoom camera (up to 34×optical zoom and 400×digital zoom), public safety, emergency rescue, energy inspections, and other critical infrastructure operators can observe and capture greater details. This includes reading a license plate from 650m away.

In smoggy or high atmospheric humidity conditions, the Electronic Dehazing function can enhance the zoom camera’s image clarity. With low and high dehazing levels, the Zenmuse H30 Series offers an enhanced vision for many operational environments from emergency rescue to routine energy inspections.

The Zenmuse H30 Series’ image stabilization algorithm reduces shaking, delivering stable and clear imagery for tasks such as detailed power line inspections. Meanwhile, the laser range finder also provides positioning information for subjects between 3 m to 3000 m away, performing 2.5 times better than the previous generation.

Day and Night Image Capture

In low-light conditions, the zoom and wide-angle cameras of the Zenmuse H30 Series seamlessly switch to Night Scene mode, ensuring continuous operation from day to night. The zoom camera in Night Scene mode also supports IR Light for infrared enhancement and NIR illumination, enhancing night overwatch and search-and-rescue operations.

The Full-Color Night Vision and Black-and-White Night Vision provide live view and high-quality recordings, offering an enhanced vision for search-and-rescue missions. Additionally, the zoom and wide-angle cameras can draw on the Smart Capture mode’s intelligent image algorithms to automatically assess the brightness of an environment’s ambient lighting. This enables the production of photos with natural transitions between light and dark while capturing detailed images.

Infrared Performance

The H30T’s infrared thermal camera boasts a 1280×1024 resolution with up to 32× digital zoom. It can measure temperatures up to 1600° C (2912° F), aiding firefighters in hotspot detection. Additionally, its three infrared gain modes can assist search and rescue teams to identify minor temperature differences between objects, people, and animals. Four times more enhanced than that of the previous generation’s camera resolution, the thermal camera also improves on target recognition, which can aid in long-distance wildlife monitoring and conservation efforts.

The UHR (Ultra-High Resolution) Infrared Image function is activated automatically at higher zoom levels, ensuring clear infrared images. With Link Zoom, visual light and thermal images can be compared side-by-side for quicker subject location. Users can also concurrently control the zoom on both the infrared thermal camera and zoom camera, keeping their FOVs aligned at all times and facilitating swift subject detection.

For rescue missions, the H30 series also supports pre-recording on the app for up to 30 seconds. This aids first responders in gathering evidence and capturing scenes leading up to the recording.

Environmental Adaptability

With an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, the Zenmuse H30 Series can operate safely and reliably in even harsh working conditions. It can also operate in extreme temperatures from -20° to 50° C (-4° to 122° F).

Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI, commented; “Once again, DJI has pushed the boundaries of aerial visuals to set new perception and imaging standards with the Zenmuse H30 Series.

“The unparalleled visuals from this trustworthy payload will no doubt enhance the effectiveness of drone pilots aiding search and rescue operations, firefighting efforts, utility inspections, and conservation efforts. As DJI‘s most integrated and powerful enterprise flagship payloads, they are designed to serve multiple critical industries.”

DJI says that this marks the first time that the company has pushed the boundaries of the enterprise payload. All data was measured using a production model in a controlled environment.
