Dual Redundant L-Series

The Dual Redundant version of Ultra Motion's L-Series of advanced linear servo actuators is designed to provide single electrical fault tolerance for safety-critical drone and robotics applications. Designed with robust mechanical elements and state-of-the-art materials and components, and featuring integrated brushless DC control electronics and contactless absolute position feedback, it delivers excellent performance and high torque under highly challenging operational conditions.

The compact and versatile actuators are ideal for UAV system designs that require redundant motors, control electronics, and a triplicated absolute position sensor for voting. The redundant actuator can be used in a cold-standby or load sharing arrangement, and position and phase currents can be completely controlled via CAN 2.0B or RS-485 serial communication protocols. An optically isolated enable input is provided as a hardware disable that removes power from the motor bridge when inactive, bypassing the onboard control electronics completely.
