Teledyne Marine’s Compact Navigator is a self-contained autonomous navigation unit developed for integration into compact uncrewed platforms, including small AUVs, ROVs, and USVs.
Housed in a rugged titanium enclosure and measuring Ø114mm x 135mm, the Compact Navigator combines advanced DVL and INS technologies in a design that emphasizes minimal size, weight, and power consumption. Its flat phased array transducer enables streamlined mounting on low-drag hulls, and integrated timing and trigger interfaces support precise synchronization across multiple acoustic payloads.
The system delivers high-accuracy dead reckoning and bottom-tracking capabilities to platforms operating independently of GNSS or USBL, with a maximum DVL range of 420 meters.
The Compact Navigator enables reliable navigation in GPS-degraded environments such as nearshore infrastructure, complex inland waterways, and areas with spoofing or jamming risks. This functionality equips smaller unmanned marine systems to carry out inspection, survey, and MCM operations at a performance level historically associated with larger vehicles.
