BotBlox has unveiled the SPEBlox Module, a compact, embeddable PCB mount solution designed to seamlessly convert between standard gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) and gigabit Single Pair Ethernet (1000BASE-T1).
The SPEBlox Module handles all conversion, software, firmware, and physical requirements, simplifying the integration of 1000BASE-T1 (Automotive Single Pair Ethernet) into systems. By using the SPEBlox Module, engineers can save significant development time, reducing integration of 1000BASE-T1 to mere hours instead of weeks.
Utilizing similar circuitry to the SPEBlox, engineers can test with the SPEBlox before transitioning to the SPEBlox Module for higher-volume applications. With a form factor of just 22mm x 29mm, the module is compact enough to be integrated into space- and weight-constrained environments.
The castellated holes allow for direct, low-cost, low-profile integration, and 0.1″ (1.27mm) pin headers can also be used for board mating. Currently in development, the SPEBlox Module is NDAA-compliant and expected to be available by mid-June 2025.
As Single Pair Ethernet (1000BASE-T1) becomes more common in cameras, embedded processors, and sensors, there remains a gap in converting between SPE and standard Ethernet. BotBlox addresses this need with its solderable 1000BASE-T to 1000BASE-T1 converter, featuring:
- NDAA and TAA compliance, manufactured in the USA
- Full compliance with 1000BASE-T and 1000BASE-T1 standards
- Support for 1Gbps over a single twisted pair with a 15-meter range
- ECAD footprints and symbols available upon release
- A wide operating temperature range of -40 to 85°C
