The Real-Time Interface & Conversion Item (RICI) is an FPGA-based signal processing platform that provides serial-to-LAN and LAN-to-LAN data formatting, filtering, and conversion for radars and surveillance sensors. The versatile unit is widely used by the United States FAA and DOD, as well as ANSPs around the world.
Each unit features dual Gigabit Ethernet ports IP-based network connectivity and can be connected to up to four serial devices such as radars. The system can be used as a tabletop device and is also 1U rack-mountable.
Common conversions include message format transformations between surveillance data in ECGP, SGF, CD-2, ASR, ASTERIX, ADS-B, MAR, TPS75, Mode 4, ARTS, AIRCAT-500, and Mode S, in addition to sync, async serial, and LAN formats.
