The ServoMax product line has been created specifically to serve the needs of advanced UAV applications such as heavy-lift cargo drones and UAM (urban air mobility). The robust servos are ideal for a wide range of safety-critical applications such as control of wing surfaces, swashplates, brakes and payload bay doors.
The advanced designs utilize BLDC (brushless DC) and PMS (permanent magnet synchronous) motors in conjunction with analog Hall effect sensors and contactless encoders for precise control of rotor position maximizing efficiency, lifetime and minimizing jitter.
The rugged servos are constructed with hard-wearing hardened steel gears and an anodized aluminium housing. All models undergo a thorough regime of environmental testing to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 standards, with some models also satisfying DO-160.
Contromax’s latest product offering, the ServoMax 12, is the first UAV servo actuator on the market to provide both PWM and CAN interfaces simultaneously. Featuring the same high performance and safety-critical design as the other entries in the ServoMax range, it weighs just 38 grams and delivers up to 5.2 kgf-cm of torque.
