ELWAVE recently showcased its Tetrapulse sensor during the ANTX Coastal Trident 2024 exercise, organized by the US Navy.

Throughout the event, Tetrapulse was integrated into VideoRay’s Defender ROV (remotely operated vehicle), highlighting its capabilities in a practical environment.

The Tetrapulse is a compact subsea electric sensor that excels in real-time electrical impedance measurements, making it highly effective for target identification in murky waters.

The sensor utilizes ELWAVE’s CEDAR technology, inspired by the sensory systems of tropical freshwater fish. With a modular design and up to four electrodes, Tetrapulse can be outfitted with cables ranging from 1.5 to 7 meters, making it adaptable for various underwater vehicles and fixed-site applications.

Tetrapulse provides accurate detection, localization, and classification of both metallic and non-metallic objects, including those buried at depths of 1 to 2 meters. Rated for depths of up to 300 meters, it operates reliably in both water and air, even in noisy settings.

Coastal Trident Overview
