Flexible Coating Integration Options

HZO enables customers to integrate the Parylene coating process in two ways: through a factory-in-factory model within their own facilities or by utilizing an HZO Center of Excellence at a convenient global location. The process begins when customer-provided components arrive at HZO’s facility, where they undergo a rigorous inspection to ensure they meet the necessary quality standards before coating.

A Controlled & Precise Coating Application

Each component is meticulously prepared through a masking process that protects designated areas from being coated. Various masking materials—including tape, caps, and specialized adhesives—are applied based on specific engineering requirements. Once masked, the components are placed on trays and loaded into HZO’s proprietary coating chambers for the batch coating process.

The Parylene coating process itself involves the conversion of solid Parylene into a gas, which is then introduced into the chamber under controlled conditions. Unlike other conformal coating methods, this vapor deposition process occurs at near-room temperature, allowing for a uniform, microns-thin protective layer to form on all exposed surfaces of the components.

Post-Coating Inspection & Quality Assurance

After the coating process is complete, the components move to the demasking stage, where the protective masking materials are carefully removed. Specialized tools and techniques ensure that the coatings remain intact while preserving the integrity of the original design. A final quality inspection verifies that the coatings meet HZO’s rigorous standards before the components are packaged and shipped back to the customer for further manufacturing or assembly.
