Drone pilots around the world are helping create the first decentralized, standardized, and ultra-detailed imagery layer of the Earth, and they’re getting paid to do it.

Meanwhile, organizations that rely on satellite or fixed-wing imagery can now access data that’s 900Ă— more detailed, 50 X faster, and 200X more affordable. Welcome to Spexi, powered by the LayerDrone network – building a real-time, crowd-powered map of the planet, and anyone can take part.

The Future of Aerial Data Is Decentralized

Using the Spexi app, pilots fly autonomous missions in predefined zones (called Spexigons), collect ultra-high resolution imagery, and earn cash. That data is verified, indexed, and made available to customers across industries.

With Layerdrone powering the Spexi app, anyone with a compatible drone and phone can contribute to global-scale mapping—earning while they do it.

Why It Beats Satellites and Planes

The imagery Spexi pilots capture is:

  • 900Ă— more detailed than satellites
  • 200Ă— faster to acquire than fixed-wing aircraft
  • 50Ă— more affordable than traditional aerial survey methods
  • 97% lower in carbon emissions than fixed-wing aircraft

Spexi doesn’t just compete with legacy systems – it leapfrogs them entirely – delivering better data, faster.

What is LayerDrone?

LayerDrone is the open network protocol that powers the Spexi platform. It standardizes, verifies, and organizes drone imagery so it can be accessed, searched, and used globally.

Spexigons: Standardized, Scalable Data Capture

Spexigons are standardized hexagonal flight zones, each covering approximately 25 acres. When a pilot flies a Spexigon with the Spexi app, their drone follows an automated flight plan at 80 meters above ground level to capture consistent, high-quality imagery.

That imagery is verified and added to the network—building a real-time, decentralized map of the world.

Why Pilots Are Joining the Spexi Network

  • Fly-to-Earn: Get paid to collect and upload imagery.
  • No Special Gear Needed: Just a DJI Mini 2, 3 or 4 drone and an Android phone.
  • Automated Flights: The app flies for you.
  • Build Reputation: Earn more by unlocking high-value missions.

Now expanding into 60+ cities across North America.
