Milrem Robotics has partnered with Marduk Technologies to develop a mobile autonomous counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) solution that defends against both loitering munitions and surveillance drones.

The solution combines Milrem’s THeMIS unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) with the Marduk Shark electro-optical C-UAS platform, providing a frontline capability that can independently detect, classify and target loitering munitions and other flying targets. The system utilizes state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and machine learning models.

The C-UAS platform can be fitted with kinetic and non-kinetic weapon systems, as well as different sensors and effectors such as radar, radio frequency detectors, jammers, and lasers. The mobile and autonomous capability provides defence forces with early warning of potential threats and the flexibility to relocate according to threat assessment.

Martin Simon, CEO of Marduk Technologies, commented: “Frontline forces on the move are most exposed to adversary drones. The mobile autonomous C-UAS platform gives our customers an additional layer of protection and extends our product portfolio, which lets us provide more capabilities for our defence customers.”

Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics, stated: “Autonomous UGVs equipped with a C-UAS payload create a new capability on the battlefield that allows forces to focus on their main task of engaging the adversary while UGVs provide better situational awareness and force protection.”
