Off-the-shelf and bespoke enterprise drone systems provider The Bionic Eye has released the Indigo inspection drone, a 1000mm airframe equipped with a Sony a7RM5 camera.
The Sony a7RM5, with 61 megapixels and a 35 mm full-frame sensor, enables the inspection drone to detect microcracks hidden in structural outer walls, bridges, dams etc. down to approximately 0.03mm in size.
The Bionic Eye’s custom gyro-stabilized gimbal has been designed to overcome wind-induced vibration and can capture images from -90 to +90 (180′) and roll angles: -40 to +40 (80′) whilst in flight.
Additionally, flight safety is enhanced with omni-directional distance sensors for flight in dangerous industrial situations.
The industrial autopilot has a wide range of features from maintenance to predictive failure reporting, as well as remote ID and ABSD transponder options. For safety, it also has anti-jamming technology and the ability to fly in GPS-denied areas.
The optional companion computer enables use of the AI/ML module which can provide in-flight intelligence.
Ground Control Stations (GCS) by The Bionic Eye can work in multiple configurations:
- One GCS controlling many drones
- Multiple GCS to extend range by passing control from one GCS to another GCS
- Control data can relay signals between UAVs using MESH technology to daisy-chain a route to the GCS
- Livestream from one drone to multiple GCS or remote command centres
The Industrial GCS allows control of the drone from up to 20Kms as standard, but has varying options to control anywhere in the world through SATCOM.
