ComNav Technology has unveiled its new K8 series of OEM GNSS modules with built-in inertial measurement unit (IMU), designed for system integrators and researchers and providing accurate, stable and reliable GNSS positioning and heading data for UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), UGVs (unmanned ground vehicles) and other robotic systems.
Based around the QUANTUM III SoC (system-on-chip), the K8 modules can track all current and future GNSS signals, including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, BeiDou-3, Galileo, SBAS and L-Band, for improved positioning accuracy, reliability and stability. Combining GNSS real-time kinematic (RTK) data with the IMU outputs provides continuous centimeter-level positioning within a short period of time, with excellent dynamic vehicle-mounted performance even in tunnels and under heavy canopies. In addition to high performance in signal-limited environments, the modules also feature anti-interference capabilities.
The ultra-compact modules have a surface-mount design with a low power consumption and are easy to integrate. Two modules are available in the K8 series – the single-antenna K803 and the dual antenna K823. The modules were officially announced via a live presentation broadcast on Facebook – click here to view the replay.
