This year has been particularly busy for Videosoft’s Defense and Military Events Team, attending numerous exclusive closed-door conferences around the globe.
This surge in activity reflects the growing demand for military operations and armed forces to adopt a more integrated approach to manned and unmanned systems, along with the increasing need for resilient connectivity in contested and degraded environments worldwide.
Videosoft’s advanced low-bandwidth video solutions have become a preferred choice for addressing these challenges. Offering uninterrupted live video feeds regardless of bandwidth constraints is a distinctive feature that sets us apart from competitors.
Live product demonstrations play a pivotal role in showcasing functional capabilities and building brand confidence. This is especially critical in the complex military landscape, where technological innovations enable faster and more effective decision-making during high-stakes operations.
With this focus, Videosoft worked in close collaboration with partners at Viasat Global Government to participate in the 9th edition of Operation Beyond The Horizon, alongside Iain Janes, Business Development Director at Videosoft.
Operation Beyond The Horizon (OBTH) | Zegrze, Poland | 23-24 September 2024
Organized annually by Viasat, Operation Beyond The Horizon (OBTH) gathers leading Solution Partners from around the world to showcase cutting-edge advancements in the critical domain of remote satellite communications, specifically designed for military operations and government security agencies.
The event included a brief fictional military campaign, with live demonstrations of fully integrated beyond line of sight (BLOS) satellite communication solutions in realistic operational scenarios.
Enhancing Soldier Connectivity and Mission Success in C4ISR
The event welcomed over 130 participants from eight countries and highlighted significant interest in Glenair’s proven STAR-PAN™ Data Hub and Power Distribution System. Through a partnership, Videosoft’s advanced video software is directly integrated into this innovative system.
Glenair’s STAR-PAN™ Data Hub and Power Distribution System
Designed to reduce the mission weight of dismounted soldier ensembles while maintaining real-time connectivity, the STAR-PAN™ system offers several advantages:
Flexible configurations with 2, 4, and 6-port high-speed hubs.
Optimized packaging that reduces heat generation and improves power efficiency and battery performance.
Enhanced situational awareness, surveillance, intelligence, and reconnaissance capabilities.
Ruggedized environmental and EMC performance for demanding conditions.
Exclusively equipped with NATO-standard Mighty Mouse QDC connectors and cables.
Next-Generation Military Operations: Low Bandwidth and Low Latency from 1 kbps Up
Videosoft’s remote military video streaming application demonstrated robust, reliable communication solutions in real-time across any network and under various scenarios. This showcased the importance of situational awareness as observed from the control center.
By integrating our adaptive video software at every stage, Videosoft ensures seamless coordination between headquarters, forward operating bases, frontline soldiers, mobile reconnaissance units, covert surveillance teams, and ISR systems. This approach uniquely streamlines the sensor-decider-effector chain.
Video feeds were successfully streamed from multiple scenarios, including:
UAVs for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR).
Command and Control Centers managing operations.
Dismounted Soldiers communicating on the move via BGAN Patrol.
Mobile Reconnaissance Units conducting vehicle patrols.
