Videosoft Global played a pivotal role in the recent multi-national Exercise HEDGEHOG in Estonia, working alongside industry leaders including Teleplan Forsberg, Shield AI, Griff Aviation, UAV Aerosystems, C3IA Solutions, and Glenair.
Supporting the UK Joint Aviation Command and NATO Forces, Videosoft demonstrated how cutting-edge video streaming can enhance operational effectiveness and real-time coordination between crewed and uncrewed platforms.
During the exercise, teams faced significant communication challenges, including limited bandwidth, dynamic environments, and electronic warfare interference. Traditional systems often struggle to maintain reliable video feeds across multiple assets in NATO STANAG 4609 format. Videosoft addressed this with its adaptive compression technology, enabling ultra-low bandwidth video transmission without compromising critical detail.
Operating across 4G/5G, tactical radio, satellite, and mesh networks, Videosoft’s solution ensured continuous, STANAG 4609-compliant video delivery, supporting Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) and providing commanders with a shared operational picture. This capability accelerated decision-making, shortened the kill chain, and enhanced situational awareness for both local and global operational oversight.
The deployment facilitated seamless crewed and uncrewed teaming, integrating assets such as Shield AI’s VBAT, Griff Aviation’s Griff 60, and UAV Aerosystems’ PROVIDENCE UAV. Videosoft’s contribution highlighted the critical role of resilient, real-time video in modern joint operations, enhancing interoperability and mission success across multinational forces.
