At the European Defence Innovation Forum (EDIF 2025) in The Hague, DeltaQuad joined industry, government, and knowledge institutions in emphasizing that international cooperation, innovation, and speed are essential to building a more resilient and secure Europe.
The forum opened with a moment of silence honoring those defending peace in Ukraine, setting a tone of urgency and purpose.
Deputy Mayor Saskia Bruines positioned The Hague as a hub for public-private defence innovation, underscoring that sustainable progress requires industry-led, government-facilitated collaboration. Speakers highlighted the battlefield-to-factory approach, translating lessons from Ukraine’s frontlines directly into research, production, and scaling. Drones, counter-drone systems, robotics, AI, sensors, and space technologies emerged as priority areas, with accelerated funding cycles and streamlined procurement deemed critical.
Keynote addresses stressed three priorities: strengthening through innovation and mass production, becoming smarter via emerging technologies, and acting together by reducing bureaucratic barriers. Partnerships between the Netherlands and Ukraine, including joint production initiatives, exemplified the value of co-development.
Industry representatives showcased rapid innovation loops, feeding battlefield insights into tens of thousands of systems, while new frameworks aim to support start-ups and dual-use technology scaling. EDIF 2025 reinforced that speed, cooperation, and innovation are central to Europe’s defence resilience, setting the stage for continued collaboration in 2026.
