DeltaQuad and Meridein Group OÜ have formed a commercial partnership to address the growing demand for long-range, European-built unmanned aerial systems capabilities backed by local expertise in the Baltic region.
The collaboration, highlighted during a joint presence at Supply, Security & Defence Expo (SSD Tallinn), comes as Estonia and the wider Baltic region shift focus from merely acquiring unmanned systems to scaling and integrating these technologies effectively. This tactical evolution is seen as a critical step for strengthening surveillance, reconnaissance, and overall operational readiness across the region. Consequently, regional defense procurement discussions are increasingly emphasizing the value of combining advanced European technology with local training, integration, and long-term lifecycle support closer to the end user.
Ross Jackson, Chief Commercial Officer at DeltaQuad, said, “The Baltics are moving quickly in their assessment of unmanned systems and the requirement is no longer only about acquiring platforms. There is a clear need for deployable, European-built capabilities that can be supported locally and integrated into operational environments. Our cooperation with Meridein is important because it combines DeltaQuad’s long-range VTOL technology with the local knowledge and support structures needed to make that capability effective in practice.”
Central to this regional strategy is the DeltaQuad Evo, a long-range fixed-wing vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial system designed for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. The platform’s combination of endurance, vertical flight capability, and operational flexibility makes it suited for demanding defense and security applications.
Eduard Vainu, Chief Operations Officer at Meridein Group OÜ, added, “From our discussions with defence and industry stakeholders in Estonia and across the Baltics, we see clear demand for UAS capabilities that combine endurance, reliability and local support. Local presence matters in this market, not only for engagement, but also for training, integration and long-term operational support. Working with DeltaQuad enables us to bring a proven European VTOL platform closer to regional end users.”
Looking ahead, both companies are exploring how local support, integration and lifecycle services can further strengthen regional capabilities. Any future localization-related activities will be developed in alignment with operational requirements, end-user needs, and the companies’ established commercial and technical roadmaps.
