The DTDA brings together leading deep-tech companies across the defense sector to accelerate development, enhance European supply chain resilience, and support strategic autonomy. It aims to enable shorter development cycles, faster adoption, and direct operational deployment.
The alliance’s focus is on key technological domains including autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, advanced sensors, and other critical capabilities directly addressing operational needs.
Alliance Membership & Focus Areas
As a charter partner from the alliance’s outset, DeltaQuad contributes expertise in long-range autonomous Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) technology, advancing innovation from the laboratory to the battlefield.
DTDA unites innovative companies in Dutch and European defense technology. This includes start-ups and scale-ups that invest heavily in R&D to component manufacturers and production-innovation companies working with single- and dual-use products.
The alliance includes several dozen member organizations active in fields such as AI, quantum technologies, advanced materials, autonomous systems, sensors, weapons, ammunition, and space.
Missions & Policy Alignment
The alliance’s mission centers on ecosystem-driven production, promoting near-shoring, adaptive production lines, and secure supply chains through closer collaboration within the European market.
DTDA aims to strengthen cooperation, innovation, security of supply, and strategic autonomy for deep-tech companies across the Netherlands, Northwest Europe, and other NATO and EU nations. This aligns with initiatives such as BRAVE1 in Ukraine, where battlefield-proven innovation is influencing European security.
The establishment of DTDA also supports several national and European defense initiatives, including the Defence Strategy for Industry and Innovation (D-SII 2025–2029), the STRAIIK-D Action Agenda, and the Action Plan for Production Security in Unmanned Systems (APOS).
At the European level, DTDA links directly to the ‘White Paper on European Defence Readiness 2030’. This connection is further reflected in the Defence Council (RBZ) meeting held in Copenhagen on 29 August 2025, where the Netherlands positioned itself as Co-Lead Nation for the Prioritised Capability Area ‘Drones and Counter-Drone Systems.’
DTDA aims to shape the defense innovation landscape by fostering coordination and leadership across the North-West European ecosystem, helping policymakers develop tools and frameworks that reflect evolving operational realities.
Ongoing Collaboration & Future Outlook
DTDA, in cooperation with the NIDV and in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, seeks to evolve from supplier to strategic partner. The alliance intends to support public-private partnerships that advance innovation, strategic autonomy, and resilience.
The alliance remains open to private organizations interested in contributing to a strong, resilient, and innovative European defense base.
