Learn about the integration of Dynautics‘ autopilot systems into HydroSurv’s hybrid-electric REAV-47, the latest in its portfolio of electric and hybrid Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USV).
The REAV-47 features an endurance of up to 90 hours and incorporates advanced rim-driven thruster propulsion developed by Rim Drive Technology (RDT). Building on a six-year relationship, the collaboration between Dynautics and Hydrosurv adapted the autopilot systems to work seamlessly with these thrusters.
Dynautics CEO, Henry Robinson, commented, “It was a pleasure to work on yet another USV project with HydroSurv. The combination of the new thruster with independent steering gives the company another very capable craft. The REAV-47 is inherently scalable and will make a valuable addition to HydroSurv’s already comprehensive range of USV technology.”
Dynautics’ prior experience with CAN bus systems and modular autopilot architectures meant they could provide HydroSurv with a customized, modular solution. Additionally, Dynautics was entrusted with employing its simulation-based design testing methodology to ensure that all control behaviors were tuned for real-world maritime conditions.
