AirData has launched a Public Safety Program designed to provide law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency response agencies worldwide with access to tools and resources for their drone operations.
The drone flight data and fleet management platform by AirData is currently used by more than 444,000 pilots across 232 countries, with over 60 million flights uploaded. The new initiative expands AirData’s presence in the public safety sector, building on deployments across 60 regions.
Rapid Onboarding & Fleet Data Management
Agencies interested in joining AirData’s Public Safety Program can set up the platform through a guided self-service onboarding process designed to enable deployment within minutes. Program managers can configure and activate their accounts in a single session by selecting the number of pilots and aircraft, as well as optional features such as Live Streaming and Asset Management. Agencies can launch a full enterprise account or begin with a free trial.
The platform automatically records operational data for each drone flight, including flight paths, timestamps, pilot information, battery cycles, and mission details. AirData integrates with existing drone hardware and flight applications, allowing pilots to continue using the apps and equipment they already use.
Supporting 178 drone models and flight applications, the system automates flight tracking and documentation, removing the need for manual log entries while providing agencies with structured data that can support grant applications, budget renewals, and program expansion requests.
For compliance-focused operations, AirData provides customizable reports that can be exported quickly, while maintaining a tamper-resistant audit trail. The platform also tracks government waivers and registration expirations, and automates documentation required under Part 107, Certificates of Authorization (COA), and comparable international regulatory frameworks.
Live Streaming & Public Transparency Tools
AirData also supports real-time mission visibility through one-second latency live streaming, allowing stakeholders to view drone footage on smartphones, tablets, or smart controllers without requiring additional hardware. The system supports a range of flight applications, including the native apps used by manufacturers such as DJI and Autel.
Live feeds can be shared with neighboring departments for joint operations using a QR code, while the platform integrates with command dashboards such as FUSUS and Milestone. The platform also supports dock-based Drone as First Responder deployments and includes a Multiview Player that allows users to monitor multiple live video feeds simultaneously.
For agencies seeking to manage community relations, AirData’s Public Portal provides residents with a searchable public record of drone activity. The system includes customizable delay windows and confidentiality settings designed to balance transparency with operational security.
Supporting the Growth of Public Safety Drone Programs
The launch comes as public safety drone adoption continues to grow, with Drone as First Responder deployments expanding into communities of all sizes. Agencies worldwide are increasingly deploying drones for patrol, search and rescue, tactical response, fire assessment, and community transparency initiatives.
As these programs grow, agencies are also facing increased demands to maintain aviation compliance, manage fleet readiness, justify budgets, and demonstrate accountability to the communities they serve. AirData’s platform is designed to help agencies manage these operational and administrative requirements.
The new Public Safety Program builds on an existing user base that includes agencies operating some of the most established drone programs. The Chula Vista Police Department, which launched the first Drone as First Responder program in the United States, uses AirData’s Public Portal to provide residents with searchable access to its drone flight records.
Other organizations using the platform include Sacramento Police Department, Huntsville Police Department, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation, where the system supports fleet management, regulatory compliance, and live streaming.
Steven Oscar, Program Manager at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, commented, “Implementing AirData’s Public Portal into our UAS program has revolutionized the way we share our drone operations with the community. It’s transparent, user-friendly, and bridges the gap between technology and public trust.”
