Volatus Aerospace Inc. has established a landmark partnership with ARCO Worldwide Services Limited (ARCO) to deliver professional drone training programs in Nigeria.
The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), will see the programs delivered by ARCO Aviation Academy (AAA), a subsidiary of ARCO Group Plc. Volatus Aerospace will supply its Volatus Academy curriculum, training materials, and instructor programs for local delivery under a co-branded, white-label framework.
The primary objective of the collaboration is to align Nigeria’s developing drone pilot training programs with international standards, specifically those set by ICAO and SORA, while ensuring full adherence to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) regulations.
AAA is an NCAA-approved aviation organization that currently offers foundational Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) courses. Through this partnership, the academy intends to expand its offerings to include specialized and advanced training. These new courses will cover areas such as thermography, LiDAR, and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, catering to the needs of industry, public safety, defense, and first responders.
Glen Lynch, CEO of Volatus Aerospace Inc., stated, “This collaboration marks an important milestone in our mission to expand safe, professional drone operations worldwide. By partnering with ARCO Aviation Academy, we’re helping to accelerate local workforce development and strengthen Nigeria’s position as a leader in the West African drone industry.”
Okosubide Mozimo, Managing Director of ARCO Worldwide Services, added, “This partnership brings globally recognized drone training programs to Nigeria for the first time. Together with Volatus, we will empower a new generation of certified drone professionals and enhance safety, compliance, and innovation across the sector.”
The agreement sets out a three-year cooperation framework that includes instructor training, localized curriculum delivery, and continued quality assurance. The initial programs are anticipated to commence roll out during the fourth quarter of 2025.
