Honeywell Aerospace has successfully demonstrated its solution for countering drone swarms, the Stationary and Mobile UAS Reveal and Intercept system during two demonstrations for local military operators in the United States.
During the C-UAS operations, Honeywell’s system was demonstrated both from a ground vehicle and from an aerostat positioned over 1,000 feet above the ground.
This solution was developed by integrating components from defense manufacturers such as Blue Halo, Leonardo DRS, Pierce Aerospace, Silent Sentinel, Walaris, Rocky Research, and Versatol. These components include radio-frequency and optical sensors for detecting, tracking, and identifying objects, as well as offensive drones to counter swarm threats.
The Stationary and Mobile UAS Reveal and Intercept system is highly reliable, with Honeywell serving as a single point of contact for updating all components as threats evolve. Honeywell’s system also helps military operators save time and money by leveraging existing investments into key components and integrating them into a unified solution.
It is designed for easy operation by security personnel or tower operators, and Honeywell has shown that new detectors and effectors can be rapidly integrated to meet evolving operator needs.
Honeywell’s solution uses Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to deliver a turnkey solution, integrating customer-selected detectors and effectors while meeting Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) standards for customer modeling, visibility, and sustainment.
Matt Milas, President of Defense and Space at Honeywell, stated, “Swarm drones pose increasing risks to high-value assets – as a result, the ability to detect, track and counter them is a crucial part of modern military operations.
“Our recent successful demonstrations not only provided strong examples of how Honeywell’s Stationary and Mobile UAS Reveal and Intercept system can provide critical capabilities on the battlefield, but they also proved the technology is highly reliable, scalable and ready to integrate into existing defensive systems.”
Honeywell is offering additional demonstrations of its commercial C-UAS solution to both domestic and international operators.
