In the demanding world of unmanned systems operations, capable ground control is paramount. The Vision2 Ground Control Station (GCS) from Vantage Robotics is engineered to meet these challenges head-on, offering a powerful and adaptable solution for UxS operators.
The Vision2 universal mobile GCS is designed for a wide range of unmanned systems, providing operators with intuitive control, robust performance, and mission-critical reliability.
Built to serve diverse user demands, from military and public safety to commercial applications, the Vision2 delivers a feature-rich platform in a compact and rugged form factor.
Capability
Vantage designed Vision2 from the ground up for outdoor operation in all conditions. Unlike most ground control stations, utilizing off-the-shelf tablet computers with low brightness screens, Vision2 is a dedicated custom computer built around a daylight readable 7-inch, 1080p display with a full sun-ready 2500 NIT screen, ensuring crystal-clear visibility even in the brightest outdoor conditions.
Operators benefit from three two-axis analog sticks and 13 tactile control buttons, including six user-programmable options, providing precise and customizable control. Integrated 3-constellation GNSS (GPS, Galileo, Glonass) supports essential functions like return-to-pilot and follow-me. The octa-core AI-enabled Qualcomm QCS8250 processor delivers 15 TOPS of AI compute power, enabling advanced onboard processing. Additionally this processor offers a powerful heterogeneous computing architecture coupled with the Qualcomm® AI Engine to efficiently run complex AI and deep learning workloads and on-device edge inferencing at incredibly low power.
Other notable features include a 4-hour battery life, single-touch display and button locks, a multi-touch screen with haptic feedback, night vision device compatibility, native H.265 video decompression, 64GB of onboard memory, and an integrated IMU and magnetometer.
As shown in the image, the Vision2 GCS includes features such as gimbal control, power and screen lock buttons, screen brightness and camera zoom controls, lanyard anchor points, and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer.
The Vision2 is designed for portability, weighing just 625 grams (without radio) and occupying a volume of less than 1000cc. Built to withstand harsh environments, the sealed magnesium body boasts an IP55 ingress protection rating, an operating range of -10°C to 50°C, and compliance with Mil-STD-810H drop testing (5 ft with rubber grips). A rugged, waterproof clasped hard case is included for safe and convenient transport.
Flexibility
The Vision2 features a DoD-standard Swappable Radio Module (SRM), offering compatibility with a variety of radio options, including Microhard, Persistent Systems, Doodle Labs, Domo Tactical, and Silvus.
Vision2 supports deployment of any Android 10 compatible application as well as operating system modifications as needed. The GCS currently supports a range of software applications, including:
- ATAK UAS Tool
- QGroundControl
- RAC2/WM
- Autonodyne Nexus
- DroneSense
Multiple video output paths are supported, including wireless and wired display casting via Wi-Fi, USB-C to HDMI, and IP to tactical networks. The Vision2 runs on the Android 10 operating system, allowing users to run custom APKs as needed. It also offers WiFi 6E/Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C charging and data transfer, optional LTE connectivity, and custom color options.
The Vision2 also incorporates AES-256 encryption, secure user authentication, a system wipe option after failed login attempts, and a DoD security-scan ready OS.
Designed and built in the USA, the Vision2 is NDAA and TAA compliant.
