The Kestrel NDAA Payload from Gremsy is a compact 3-axis EO/IR gimbal that equips small unmanned aircraft with stabilized visible and thermal imaging for intelligence, surveillance, inspection, and emergency response. Engineered with an emphasis on size, weight, and power (SWaP) efficiency, the payload combines a 1280 × 720 EO camera with a FLIR Boson 640 radiometric thermal camera to deliver dependable imaging in daylight, low-light, and complete darkness. The integrated 52× total zoom capability allows operators to observe distant subjects without compromising platform endurance, while full NDAA compliance supports deployment by government agencies and organizations with trusted supply chain requirements.
Designed for rapidly evolving operational environments, Kestrel incorporates adaptive object tracking, automatic object detection, and IR object tracking to help maintain visual contact with moving subjects. Dual visible/IR imaging enhances target identification across changing environmental conditions, and H.264/H.265 video compression enables efficient live streaming and recording. An integrated tactical laser illuminator further expands operational capability in low-light scenarios, while compatibility with Pixhawk/Cube Pilot flight controllers and ArduPilot/PX4 autopilot ecosystems simplifies integration with a broad range of professional UAV platforms used for tactical missions, public safety, infrastructure inspection, emergency response, and aerial surveillance.
