Cellula Robotics has been selected to participate in the Canadian Technology Accelerators Maritime Defence and Security Applications of Ocean Technologies program in the United Kingdom.
The initiative, led by the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom and delivered alongside BMNT, focuses on supporting Canadian companies that develop ocean technologies aligned with the shared defense priorities of both nations. The program is designed to facilitate direct engagement between Canadian innovators and UK stakeholders, creating pathways for operational alignment and the development of long-term capabilities as maritime security challenges continue to evolve.
In March, Cellula will join a cohort of Canadian ocean technology firms in London to explore collaboration opportunities with UK defense and industry partners. This participation builds on the company’s existing engagement within allied defense ecosystems and its focus on providing reliable, field-ready systems for complex maritime environments.
Richard Mills, Chief Commercial Officer, commented, “Canada and the United Kingdom share a strong maritime heritage and a common set of emerging security challenges below the surface. Programs like this create the structured dialogue needed to ensure advanced subsea technologies are integrated in ways that are operationally credible and aligned with allied priorities.”
Headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia, Cellula Robotics employs more than 80 engineers, technologists, and subsea specialists. The company specializes in the design and manufacture of hydrogen fuel cell-powered and long-endurance Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) platforms. These systems are engineered for persistent, long-range missions, including under-ice ISR, subsea monitoring, mine warfare, and infrastructure inspection.
By combining endurance with payload delivery and integration expertise, the company supports a wide range of mission-driven applications, from geophysical surveys and scientific research to the protection of critical infrastructure. The company’s involvement in the CTA program reinforces its commitment to establishing trusted international partnerships while meeting the demanding requirements of modern maritime defense.
