VideoRay, a BlueHalo company and a leader in underwater robotic systems, has been awarded a $30.7 million contract to provide systems engineering and support services for its Mission Specialist Defender Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).
Issued by the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific, this five-year contract will enhance the U.S. Navy’s operational capabilities by ensuring continued support for these advanced unmanned underwater systems.
This latest award builds on VideoRay’s existing partnership with the U.S. Navy, following the company’s $92.6 million Maritime Expeditionary Standoff Response (MESR) contract in May 2024. It further solidifies VideoRay’s role in providing advanced underwater robotic solutions for expeditionary missions, mine countermeasures, and maritime security.
Jonathan Moneymaker, CEO of BlueHalo, said, “This follow-on contract highlights the U.S. Navy’s commitment to adapting and customizing our commercial off-the-shelf defense solutions to meet the evolving needs of its expeditionary forces. We are honored to continue our support in delivering cutting-edge, mission-critical ROVs that enhance maritime security, reconnaissance, and response capabilities for the fleet.”
Acquired by BlueHalo last year, VideoRay continues to set the benchmark for high-performance, man-portable unmanned undersea systems. The Mission Specialist Defender is engineered for superior maneuverability, seamless payload integration, and operational versatility, ensuring mission success in complex and high-risk maritime environments.
