Multi-aperture side-scan sonar

Solstice is an ultra-high resolution multi-aperture side-scan sonar system for AUVs, ROVs and towfish platforms. Featuring 200m of swath coverage and co-location of side-scan imagery and bathymetry, it delivers superior imaging capabilities over wide scan areas.

The versatile platform is easy to install and draws just 18W of power, making it ideal for integration into SWaP-limited systems with minimal impact on mission endurance.

Solstice takes into account platform yaw, pitch and roll in order to reduce coverage gaps and produce distortion-free imagery, and also uses sophisticated dynamic real-time array recalibration to compensate for non-linear effects and provide precise alignment for high-accuracy imagery.

Solstice uses unique back-projection beam-forming technology that focuses on every single pixel in the image, and takes into account platform yaw, pitch and roll in order to reduce coverage gaps and produce distortion-free imagery.

The underwater sonar system also uses dynamic real-time array calibration of each hydrophone element, updating several times a second in order to compensate for non-linear effects and providing the precise alignment that is crucial for high-accuracy imagery.
