The ShadowfaxUAS SF30 is a rugged hybrid fixed-wing VTOL UAS that has been designed from the ground up to provide a unique surveillance and reconnaissance capability with unmatched range and persistence. With a highly aerodynamic design and fully autonomous landing, it can operate with a low logistical footprint in highly demanding environments.
The aircraft is powered by a field-swappable propulsion unit that can be swapped out in seconds, based around a fuel-efficient four-stroke internal combustion engine with optional electronic fuel injection. The unit incorporates a generator that can deliver up to 100W of clean DC power at user-selectable voltages.
The versatile platform has been designed with a modular payload bay that can carry up to 5 kg of sensors, payloads and other equipment. It can also be equipped with a range of communications options, including SATCOM terminals, 4G cellular modems, and tactical MIMO radios.
The complete UAS includes a rugged dual-screen ground control station, based around an embedded Intel I7 processor. The system features hot-swappable batteries and also accepts external power input for uninterrupted performance during long-duration missions.
