Trakka Systems has integrated its Total Mission Solution into Windward Aviation’s BK117 helicopter, to enhance its operational capabilities and support public safety missions across Hawaii.
Windward Aviation has equipped its BK117 helicopter with Trakka’s advanced Critical Vision Technologies, enhancing situational awareness, improving safety, and optimizing operational efficiency to meet the challenges of Hawaii’s diverse terrain. From active volcanoes and rugged landscapes to tropical storms and widespread wildfires, aerial missions demand precision, reliability, and adaptability.
The TrakkaCam® TC-300 Gen II imaging system delivers high-definition infrared and color images, while the TrakkaBeam® TL-360 LED/LEP searchlight provides high-intensity, energy-efficient illumination for nighttime surveillances and search and rescue operations. When integrated with the TrakkaMaps® TM-100 mapping system, these technologies form a unified system that enhances Windward Aviation’s aerial surveillance, emergency response, and public safety operations.
Windward Aviation, a trusted provider of aerial services throughout Hawaii, has a long history of supporting conservation initiatives, disaster response, and government operations. With over 30,000 flight hours and 900,000 takeoffs and landings, the company plays a vital role in protecting native rainforests and watersheds, transporting personnel and equipment to remote locations, and assisting in wildlife preservation efforts alongside Hawaii’s Department of Land & Natural Resources.
Mike Kipphorn, Western Sales Director for Trakka Systems, commented, “We are excited to support Windward Aviation with our Total Mission Solution, equipping them with the latest advancements in aerial imaging, illumination, and mapping. Their conservation and public safety efforts align perfectly with Trakka’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology that enhances mission success in the world’s most unique and demanding environments, including off-shore search and rescue along Hawaii’s rugged coastlines.”
