1. Exail Partners to Deliver AUV Swarming Technology
Exail, collaborating with RTsys and ABYSSA, is developing autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) swarming technology for precise seabed surveying at great depths.
The work under the CARMA (mineral resources mapping by AUVs swarms) project involves creating an innovative swarming solution. This will involve a multi-sensor underwater drone, capable of diving to 3,000 meters, handling the coordination of multiple AUVs.
2. Low-SWaP UAV EO/IR Gimbal for ISR Missions
UAVOS has launched the GOS-155, a new gimbaled camera purpose-built for UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle)-based ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) applications.
The gimbal’s optimized SWaP (size, weight and power) profile, advanced day and night imaging, and embedded video processor makes it ideal for any mid-sized VTOL or fixed-wing UAS. With its low weight of 1.8 kg, and just 155 mm in size, it allows UAS platforms to decrease their payload burden and thus achieve longer endurances without sacrificing optical performance.
3. New Tactical-Grade GPS-Aided INS for UAVs & Unmanned Systems
FIBERPRO has unveiled the FN 200C, a cutting-edge GPS-aided inertial navigation system (INS) that leverages tactical-grade fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) technology to provide what the company claims is a new standard of reliability and accuracy for a diverse range of applications, including UAVs, autonomous ground vehicles, and USVs.High-End Tactical UAS Manufacturer Selects Actuator Supplier
The FN 200C is a comprehensive solution that combines multiple functions into a single, integrated platform.
4. High-End Tactical UAS Manufacturer Selects Actuator Supplier
German actuator specialist Volz Servos GmbH has been awarded a contract by Airbus to be the supplier for Airbus’ SIRTAP high-end tactical unmanned aerial system (UAS).Â
Volz will provide the Airbus SIRTAP drones with DA 26 actuators for the air conditioning system.
The DA 26 features a brushless motor and a contactless wear free position sensor for maximum safety and reliability. This means maximum service life with the greatest-possible power delivery and its design prevents electromagnetic emissions (EMI) caused by brush sparking.
5. Latest Innovations for Long-Endurance VTOL Drones
T-DRONES, a manufacturer of long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and related hardware innovations, is developing additional drone frames this year in line with user demands.
Currently, two long-endurance vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drones are available, the VA25 and the VA23. The VA25 drone features a locking propeller design. The propellers remain stable even in strong winds, significantly enhancing overall flight efficiency.
The VA23 drone incorporates carbon fiber material for the overall frame of the drone. Weighing only 2kg, the frame is both lightweight and high-strength, while maintaining superior flight performance.
