CONTROP Precision Technologies Ltd. will showcase the newly expanded line of High Definition (HD) Electro Optical InfraRed (EO/IR) stabilized payloads for use on Helicopters, Light Reconnaissance Aircraft, UAVs and Aerostats at LAAD Security 2014.

These high-end HD camera payloads have already been selected by several major customers worldwide, including customers in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

CONTROP DSP-HD EO/IR Gyro-Stabilized Payload

CONTROP’s flagship DSP-HD EO/IR gyro-stabilized payload

The flagship DSP-HD is a high resolution, high performance EO/IR gyro-stabilized payload utilizing up to five different EO sensors. The DSP-HD enables day/night long range observation due to its high resolution Full HD Color Day Camera and a unique powerful Continuous Optical Zoom in the Thermal Imaging Camera, as well as a B/W or Color HD Day Spotter channel, Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder and Laser Pointer/Illuminator.

The DSP-HD is a four-gimbal system, gyro-stabilized in azimuth and elevation, allowing the EO Sensors’ Line of Sight (LOS) to be aimed and maintained stabilized in all directions, including Zenith and Nadir. The DSP-HD has been proven to provide an exceptionally outstanding Full HD day picture at longer ranges and enhanced image quality. The DSP-HD weighs only 27 kg and is easily integrated onto a wide variety of platforms through a flexible configuration suitable to any specific application. The DSP-HD payload, as well as the DSP-1 payload, is in use by many customers and in many countries, including the Israel Police Aviation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and numerous other airborne platforms in Israel and worldwide.

CONTROP’s QUAD-HD is a three-gimbal gyro-stabilized payload with up to four sensors including the Full HD Camera and a unique powerful Continuous Optical Zoom Lens in the Thermal Imaging Camera. Weighing only 21.5 kg, this compact payload and the QUAD payload have been supplied to numerous major customers worldwide including Latin America, Europe and Africa.

These two HD camera payloads are now being offered by CONTROP as part of a new high-end EO/IR surveillance package for AS350/355 helicopters. The installation kit includes two types of payload mounting adapters, vertical and horizontal, Operator’s Work Station including the Operator’s HD Display, Control Unit, HD-DVR, Airborne Mission Computer with Mission Management SW, Video Downlink transmitter (and ground receiver unit) and Pilot’s Display. The installation kit can also be adapted to other helicopter models, subject to customer demand.

CONTROP’s ITAR free products are very attractive due to their high performance characteristics combined with a remarkable price/performance ratio. CONTROP is represented in Brazil by the renowned TAM Aviacao Executiva Company, for all airborne payloads and installations.

Following years of operational and field experience, CONTROP is continually upgrading their state-of-the-art systems to answer even the most challenging mission requirements. CONTROP’s EO/IR payloads have a proven track record to the full satisfaction of all of its many military, police, HLS and civilian customers worldwide.
