Processor & Multifunction Panel I/O Board

The UEI-PIO-1010 is a rugged processor and multifunction I/O board designed for embedded and panel-mounted use in unmanned systems, simulators, and industrial control platforms. Measuring 8.5 (W) x 4.5 (D) x 0.75 (H), it provides 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog inputs with 18-bit resolution, two analog outputs supporting plus or minus 10 volts or 4 to 20 milliamps, and 20 digital I/O bits including 16 industrial-voltage channels rated from 0 to 55 volts DC and 4 logic-level channels.

All digital lines are software-configurable with programmable pull-up or pull-down resistors and support 16-bit PWM or soft-start output modes. The board includes RS-232/422/485 and I²C ports, dual 32-bit counters, trigger input and output, and 350 volts RMS isolation. Timestamped FIFO streaming is supported for analog, digital, and serial data. The unit is rated for 5 g vibration, 100 g shock, operation from minus 40 to 70°C, and altitudes up to 70,000 feet. Mean time between failures exceeds 140,000 hours.

An onboard SoloX ARM A9 processor with 1 gigabyte of RAM and 8 gigabytes of eMMC flash supports both PowerDNA mode for host-controlled operation and UEIPAC mode for standalone embedded use under a standard Linux environment. Input voltage ranges from plus or minus 80 volts to 0.156 volts are selectable per channel. The system is compatible with Windows, Linux, VxWorks, QNX, RTX, and InTime operating systems and supports programming in C, C++, Python, and Java, along with integration into MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Simulink via UEISIM.

Developers can assign IP addresses without a host PC using onboard hex switches. The UEI-PIO-1010 is compatible with over 90 UEI I/O boards and shares the same API as the DNA and DNR series. Optional ruggedized enclosures, screw-terminal adapters, and cable assemblies are available, with I/O access through a standard 62-pin D-sub connector. SSD expansion is supported, and a DBG cable is required for serial terminal access. AC power supply is sold separately.
