2-Channel Synchro/Resolver/LVDT/RVDT Interface

The DNx-AI-256 is a two-channel synchro, resolver, LVDT, and RVDT I/O interface board compatible with UEI Cube, RACKtangle™, and FLATRACK™ chassis. Functionally similar to the DNx-AI-255 but with significantly higher output drive, it can be configured as two inputs, two outputs, or one input and one output. Each input channel supports 3-wire synchros or 4-wire resolvers, with 16-bit resolution and accuracies up to ±2.6 arc-minutes. The board also supports 4-, 5-, and 6-wire LVDT/RVDT devices.

Inputs may be read at rates up to the excitation frequency, with a 10 kHz maximum. Each channel includes an independent programmable reference, with outputs configurable up to 19.8 Vrms, 2.4 VA, and frequencies from 50 Hz to 10 kHz. Automatic adjustment to variable amplitude and frequency references occurs within a single reference cycle when using external references.

The DNx-AI-256 also provides two channels of synchro or resolver output for driving devices such as attitude indicators or for simulating a wide variety of input signals. Outputs provide 16-bit resolution and drive up to 19.8 Vrms at 3.0 VA per channel, with total board output limited to 5 VA. Current draw on each output channel can be monitored to confirm wiring integrity and proper load behavior.

The board features 350 Vrms isolation between channels and from I/O to chassis, and is qualified for operation in harsh environments, tested to 5 g vibration, 100 g shock, –40 to +85 °C, and 70,000 ft altitude. Software support is provided across Windows, Linux, and real-time operating systems including QNX, INtime, and VxWorks, with APIs for multiple languages and integration through the UEIDAQ Framework for LabVIEW and MATLAB/Simulink. For RACKtangle configurations, the DNR-AI-256 includes a DNR-FAN-925 cooling fan, required to prevent overheating when installed.
