Allient Inc. has launched a next-generation Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) designed to enhance propulsion efficiency and reliability across professional drone platforms.
The newly announced Vyxalon™ Apex Drone Drive expands the company’s Intelligent Controls platform by combining Gallium Nitride (GaN) power technology with high-speed Field-Oriented Control (FOC), supporting both sensorless and encoder-based control. Engineered for operation in demanding environments, the drive provides field-programmable tuning alongside high thermal and energy efficiency to maximize flight range, system uptime, and mission-specific configurability while supporting low-noise, low-vibration operation.
Jesse Dowd, General Manager of Allient Rochester, commented, “The Vyxalon™ Apex Drone Drive is a significant step forward in our commitment to precision motion control for unmanned systems. As drone technology advances, our customers require higher efficiency, power density, and reliability in mission-critical environments. The Apex Drone Drive delivers exactly that, giving next-generation UAS platforms the performance edge they need.”
Featuring compact electronics, advanced protection and diagnostic capabilities, and support for multiple communication interfaces, the ESC targets defense, industrial, robotics, and agriculture applications. The Vyxalon Apex Drone Drive will meet National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) supply chain requirements and will be included in the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Blue UAS Framework / Catalog. The product launch adds to Allient’s broader footprint as a global designer and manufacturer of specialty motion, controls, and power solutions.
