Beyond Visual Line of Sight
Discover cutting-edge solutions from 11 leading global suppliers
Canadian UAVs has partnered with a drone OEM to deploy a fully autonomous drone-in-a-box solution for persistent surveillance of critical infrastructure in the Cold Lake region.
Leveraging its Canada-wide Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) permit from Transport Canada, Canadian UAVs enables 24/7 RPAS operations in complex airspace, where remote pilots are situated 600km away.
The company’s Sparrowhawk Detect-and-Avoid (DAA) radar system ensures safe integration of unmanned aircraft within a 12 nautical mile radius and up to 5,000 ft altitude, crucial in Cold Lake, where military aircraft from Canadian and NATO forces regularly operate. This technology supports safe and efficient BVLOS missions without disrupting manned aviation.
Designed for remote asset monitoring, the solution offers significant benefits for industries such as Oil & Gas, enabling cost-effective inspection of pipelines, facilities, and environmental conditions. Drone-in-a-box systems are also proving their value in public safety applications, such as Drone as a First Responder (DFR) programs used by U.S. law enforcement agencies.
