Comet is a radio-linked remote-stop and flight termination system consisting of a Vehicle unit and an Operator unit, and featuring dual redundant processing, redundant termination circuits, and two termination outputs that can be independently configured for positive-logic digital or pyrotechnic ignition. The system has been rigorously designed to ensure that no single failure causes flight termination.
One Vehicle unit can support up to two Operator units as standard in line-of-sight operation, and options are available for BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) operation as well as support for up to eight Operator units. Comet utilizes a modular radio socket, enabling it to support a variety of licensed and unlicensed bands from 400 MHz to 2.4 GHz with a transmit power of up to 4 Watts.
