Inertial Sensing Solutions

Our advanced inertial sensors measure a variety of parameters, including: orientation (pitch, roll, yaw or azimuth), linear acceleration and angular rate, on either a single or dual axis inclination. The minimal weight and size allows for efficient integration into existing unmanned platforms without compromising the performance of the system. Advanced data gathering and estimation filtering algorithms provide the system with precise control and stabilization.

3DM-CV5-10 Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)The 3DM-CV5-10 Vertical Measurement Unit is our smallest, lightest and highest performance IMU in its class. The industrial-grade board-level unit incorporates a triaxial accelerometer, gyroscope, and temperature sensors to provide an optimal measurement combination that is mathematically aligned to an orthogonal coordinate system for superior accuracy. IMU outputs include acceleration, angular rate, delta theta and delta velocity.

Each unit is fully calibrated and temperature-compensated. A comprehensive and fully backwards-compatible communication protocol, common to many of our product families, allows easy OEM integration and development of custom interfaces.

3DM-CV5-25 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS)The 3DM-CV5-25 is a complete Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) solution that provides IMU outputs (acceleration, angular rate, magnetic field, ambient pressure, delta theta, delta velocity) as well as a wide variety of computed outputs. A state-of-the-art Extended Kalman Filter run by dual on-board processors delivers high-accuracy dynamic attitude estimates.

The 3DM-CV5-25 is the smallest and lightest industrial AHRS with Adaptive Kalman Filter available. All sensors are fully temperature-compensated and calibrated over the operating temperature range.

3DM-GX5-25 – AHRS with integrated magnetometers

3DM-GX5-25 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS)The 3DM-GX5-25 is our high-performance industrial-grade Attitude and Heading Reference System that provides the same outputs as the 3DM-CV5-25 but with greater stability and lower noise density.

Automatic magnetometer calibration and anomaly rejection eliminate the need for field calibration, saving time as well as effort and allowing for quick and easy system integration. The unit also automatically compensates for noise and vibration, making it ideal for the harsh environments of unmanned vehicle operations.

3DM-GX5-15 Vertical Reference Unit (VRU)The 3DM-GX5-15 Vertical Reference Unit uses a triaxial accelerometer, triaxial gyroscope, temperature sensors, and pressure altimeter to provide both IMU outputs (acceleration, angular rate, ambient pressure, delta theta, delta velocity) as well as a wide variety of computed outputs. A state-of-the-art Extended Kalman Filter run by dual on-board processors delivers high-accuracy dynamic attitude estimates.

User-defined sensor-to-vehicle frame transformation allows for easy integration into any unmanned systems application, and bias tracking, error estimation and adaptive noise modelling allow the user to fine-tune to specific conditions.

3DM-GX5-45 GNSS-Aided Inertial Navigation SystemThe 3DM-GX5-45 is a complete high-performance GNSS-aided navigation solution with a multi-constellation receiver that is compatible with GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo satellite constellations.

The state-of-the-art auto-adaptive estimation filter algorithm produces highly accurate computed pitch, roll, yaw, heading, position, velocity, and GNSS outputs under highly dynamic conditions. The blended GNSS and INS outputs provide high-accuracy position estimation for a variety of unmanned systems.
