The Skycat series of ballistic UAV parachute recovery systems is designed to provide safe landing for multicopters, unmanned helicopters, and small fixed-wing drones. The lightweight and compact units are easily installed with minimal impact on total UAS weight.
The patented trigger mechanism is electrically triggered, releasing the parachute in milliseconds. Ejection is performed away from the airframe and propellers to avoid entanglement. A dedicated battery can be used to power the system for total independence from the UAV power supply, and multiple independent receivers powered from same or different BECs can be utilized for added radio channel reliability.
Multiple parachute sizes are available for different UAVs. Up to three units can be installed on a single airframe to protect higher-weight aircraft with better redundancy.
