Fizoptika Malta U121D FOG IMUFizoptika Malta has confirmed that it will be launching new miniature FOG (fiber optic gyroscope) IMUs (inertial measurement units) at two upcoming events – GEO Week in Denver, Colorado, USA (February 13-15) and Oceanology International in San Diego, California, USA (February 14-16). The company’s low-SWaP FOG sensors provide precision motion and orientation measurements, and are ideal for a range of drone and robotics applications.

The two new products are:

  • U121D FOG IMU – measuring 63x56x40 mm with a weight of 160 grams and a power consumption of 1.5 W
  • U123D FOG IMU – measuring 40 x 100 mm with a weight of 180 grams and a power consumption of 1.5 W

In addition, Fizoptika Malta will also be showcasing its recently-launched VG221 fiber optic gyroscope. This family of ultra-miniature gyros has been expanded with two new variants – the VG221MS with enhanced magnetic resistance, and the VG221LN with low noise performance.
