e-con Systems 4K Multi-Camera System

e-con Systems, a developer of embedded camera solutions, has announced the launch of the e-CAM130_TRICUTX2, a Multiple 4K camera system for the NVIDIA Jetson TX1/TX2 embedded computing platforms. The solution consists of three 13MP 4-Lane MIPI CSI-2 camera boards and a base board to interface with the J22 connector on the Jetson TX1/TX2. Each camera is based on the camera module e-CAM137_CUMI1335_MOD, with a 1/3″ AR1335 color CMOS image sensor from ON Semiconductor and integrated Advanced Image Signal Processor (ISP). All three cameras are connected to the base board using customized Micro-Coaxial cables. To ensure the sturdiness of the system, e-con Systems has designed a flexible 30cm long Micro-Coaxial cable with connector locks at both ends, allowing customers to easily connect both camera boards and adapter board.

Nvidia Jetson TX1/TX2 has support for three 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 interfaces. e-con Systems’ e-CAM137_CUMI1335_MOD can stream uncompressed video 4K at 30fps. The TRICamera supports up to 3 simultaneous synchronized 4K @ 30fps streams. The platform is ideal for a wide range of unmanned systems applications, such as ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems) and agricultural UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).

“Customers can use up to three 4k cameras on a single TX2 platform application that demands high resolution video, with the additional flexibility to place these cameras in any orientation based on application requirements,” said Ashok Babu, President of e-con Systems Inc.
